Our MD and CEO (SPL), Mr. Saif Uddin, FCA has been in the industry for more than 20 years. He was previously a part of the senior leadership team at Rahman Rahman Huq, Chartered Accountants, KPMG in Bangladesh and served as KPMG’s Director & Branch-in-charge of, Chittagong Branch for more than eight (8) years and lead the Audit, Tax, and Advisory practices of the Branch. Being a qualified chartered accountant, a certified information systems auditor, and a post-graduate in Islamic Finance Practice, Mr. Saif has earned himself a position of deep trust and respect within the professional and business community. Saif specializes in statutory audits, Taxation (including transfer pricing and international tax planning) and VAT services, Corporate Finance, IT system audits, due diligence, and investigations. Saif has foreign work experience in Malaysia and has attended international seminars, workshops, and training sessions organized by KPMG, EMA, and ASPAC regions, in many countries. Mr. Saif is a Fellow member of the ICAB and an Associate Member of the ICAEW, Member of ISACA, USA. In addition to acting as Managing Director of SPL, Saif is also acting as Principal and CEO of Saif Kashem & Co., Chartered Accountants.

Our Director – Taxes, Mr. Ayub Nabi was previously employed by Youngone Corporation (YO), Bangladesh, and has more than 25 years of professional experience with YO. His last held position at Youngone was that of Deputy Director - Finance and Accounts. During his tenure in Youngone Group, he was entrusted with responsibilities of managing all Direct and Indirect tax matters of the Group. Mr. Ayub is highly regarded and respected within the RMG export community in Chattogram and has deep relationships with EPZ based companies in Bangladesh. Mr. Ayub is registered as Income Tax Practitioner under National Board of Revenue. Mr. Ayub specializes in taxation services and holds a position of dignity with the local tax authorities.

Our Director of Management Consulting Services is Sayema Sultana (PhD). Prior to joining SPL and SKC, Dr. Sayema was a Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Finance, Sunway University Business School, Sunway University, Malaysia. She completed her PhD (Accounting) in 2018 from the University of Malaya (Faculty of Business and Accountancy) on a prestigious fund, the Postgraduate Research Fund (PPP). She has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a major in Finance that was completed in 2011 from Independent University, Bangladesh where she was awarded the Chancellor’s Gold Medal award for academic excellence. She has several scholarly publications in peer-reviewed top-tier journals and a regular reviewer of the world’s reputed impact factor journals. Dr. Sayema’s research works encompass the emerging issues and range across the topics in Accounting, Governance, Finance, and Sustainability Reporting. She leads the Management Consulting wing of SPL and SKC and supports the other practices with her skills and experiences in methodology development as well as contributing to the literature base with original research works.

Mr. Md. Khalilur Rahman was previously employed with Youngone Group, Bangladesh and has more than 25 years of professional experience with YO. His last held position at Youngone was Deputy Director-Export & Import. Mr. Khalil is highly regarded and respected within the BEPZA, BEPZIA and EPZ based industries for his vast knowledge and experience in Customs, VAT, Commercial laws & practices related to EPZ Enterprises. He has deep relationships with Customs Authorities, National Board of Revenue, Local VAT and Tax Authorities and well respected among business communities.

Our Head of Transfer Pricing, Mr. NMA Raihan is an experienced professional with over 15 years of experience in various capacities across multiple organizations. Raihan has 10 years of experience with KPMG, Bangladesh. He has mentionable experience in benchmarking services which he acuminated whilst working with CRISL Bangladesh (premier credit rating agency in Bangladesh) as well as working as the Manager – Transfer pricing services at KPMG, Bangladesh. Raihan is one of the earliest Transfer pricing practitioners in Bangladesh and during his time in KPMG, Bangladesh, he managed more than 25 multi-national clients. His expertise includes collaborating with the foreign Transfer pricing specialists from KPMG. In addition, he is also an Income Tax Practitioner (ITP) and holds an LLB (Bachelor in Law) from Chittagong Law College.

Our Head of Advisory, Mr. Raquib Uddin Chowdhury has more than 9 years of experience with KPMG, Bangladesh. During his time at KPMG, Raquib was responsible for working on and later overseeing most of the consultancy projects of KPMG, Bangladesh, Chattogram Branch. Raquib’s expertise lies in corporate finance and valuation services, internal audits, internal control reviews, business performance services, process analysis and standardization, human resource optimization, and accounting advisory services. Apart from consultancy services, Raquib also has significant experience in statutory audits, ethics, and risk management practices and organized various training sessions on business skills, audit, and accounting standards in his role as Assistant Manager at KPMG, Bangladesh.

Mr. Ashiq is a seasoned tax professional with around 18 years of working knowledge and hands-on experience in dealing with corporate tax matters. He started his career with A. K. Khan Group (one of the oldest and most notable business conglomerates in Bangladesh) as its Corporate Manager-Tax. Thereafter in 2015, Ashiq joined KPMG, Bangladesh as an Assistant Manager– Tax and was responsible for managing Corporate Tax and Advisory of local conglomerates and multi-national companies. He is now working with us as Consultant-Tax.
